Nowadays, the logistics industry basically requires volume measurement. Truck volume measurement can use a variety of methods, including manual measurement, lidar measurement, camera measurement, etc. Among them, manual measurement is the most traditional method, which is relatively simple but has low accuracy. LiDAR measurement is a relatively advanced measurement method that uses a LiDAR sensor to emit a laser beam and receive the reflected signal, and determines the truck by calculating the reflection time. The position and size of the truck are obtained to obtain a three-dimensional model of the truck. This method has high accuracy, fast measurement speed, and easy use, and has been widely used.
GS400 truck volume measurement system
The GS400 truck volume measurement system mainly consists of four parts, the license plate recognition system, the floor scale weighing system, the radar measurement system, and the gantry and terminal system.
The point cloud image is obtained by scanning the two front radars to obtain width and height information. The rear radar is a speed measuring radar to obtain length information, and then the volume information of the vehicle-mounted object is obtained through an algorithm. This solution enables dynamic measurement while the vehicle is moving. A single measurement can be completed within 20 seconds, while ensuring that the error is within three percent.
The operating procedure of the GS400 truck volume measurement system is as follows:
1. When an empty truck approaches the gate, the license plate recognition system works to identify the vehicle information and at the same time wakes up the radar system to start measurement.
2. The truck passes through the measuring gate and weighing scale, and the front and rear lidar performs 3D scanning and creates an image of the truck, which is used to measure the empty volume.
3. The truck returns to the measuring station (now full) and recognizes the license plate
4. The truck passes through the measuring gate and weighbridge, and the front and rear radars perform 3D scanning and create an image of the truck, which is used to measure the overall volume after loading.
5. Calculate the volume and send the result to the background control system (with an error within 3%)
